The Lake View Hotel is conveniently located on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park an area highly regarded as one of the best places to visit in Wales and home to some of the most stunning, awe-inspiring scenery in the United Kingdom.

Positioned directly above the banks of Llyn Padarn (Lake Padarn) just one and a half miles from Llanberis town, The Lake View Hotel provides easy access to anywhere within the park and beyond.

Boasting the highest peak in Wales, Mount Snowdon, Snowdonia is awash with challenging hikes and beautifully rewarding views. What makes the area an incredibly unique destination is the variety of activities available for even the most adventurous of travellers. From world renowned hiking, climbing and cycling through to watersports such as paddleboarding, kayaking or rafting. We guarantee guests any age and preference will never be short of finding an experience that feel exhilarating and rejuvenating.

Snowdonia has countless adventure activities on offer but, if a more relaxed break is needed, there’s plenty of offer for those of a less adventurous persuasion too. The local area is steeped in history and culture and boasts a plethora of world famous landmarks and sights to take in including famous castles, burial chambers and museums and of course the breathtaking countrysides views, to no matter what the season. There are plenty of mellow, low altitude walks that take in some of the Parks many imposing lakes and rivers while enjoying the fresh mountain air, slow pace and incredible nature all around.

Being only an hour and half’s drive from the M6 motorway we’re easily reached from anywhere in the North West. Making travel to the rest of Wales and even Ireland an easy inclusion into your trip itinerary. Snowdon Railway
Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa

Catch a traditional steam engine and head up to the highest peak in Wales, travelling almost 5 miles from nearby Llanberis to the very summit of Snowdon. This fascinating journey will have you marvelling at the sights and wonderful landscapes that North Wales has to offer.

The world’s fastest and Europe’s longest zip line, Velocity 2 is Zip World’s best-known adventure, featuring four parallel lines that span over 1.5 kms over the beautiful blue water of Penrhyn Quarry lake. Be prepared to reach speeds of over 100 mph!

Llechwedd Slate Mines
Llechwedd Slate Caverns

Llechwedd Slate Caverns of Blaenau Ffestiniog is part of a living, working slate mine still being worked to this day. Take one of the underground guided tours that take you deep below Snowdonia to explore the world of the Victorian slate miner. This popular attraction is ideal – come rain or shine.

Caernarfon Castle
Caernarfon Castle

Caernarfon Castle is recognised around the world as one of the greatest buildings of the Middle Ages. Built by Edward I, this fortress-palace on the banks of the River Seiont boasts World Heritage Site status and is one of the most popular attractions in north Wales.

Located in the Conwy Valley, this beautiful National Trust garden spans over 80 acres of hillside and includes formal terraces, informal shrub borders, a gorge garden, areas of woodland garden and the Laburnum arch, (the longest in the UK). A delightful place to visit during Spring, Summer or Autumn.

Swallow Falls Snowdonia
Swallow Falls

Set amidst lush woodlands full of wildlife and close to Betws-y-Coed, Swallow Falls is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The falls themselves can be enjoyed from a viewing location above the river with no strenuous walking or, for the more energetic, there are steps leading down to a platform close to the river edge.

Portmeirion

Stepping into Portmeirion is like crossing the border into a fantasyland. Impossibly pretty and somewhat surreal, the village was inspired by the multicoloured façades of Portofino in Italy. Lonely Planet listed Portmeirion as a top destination on its ‘Ultimate Travelist’ for the entire world!
